Queer Eye Star's Hot New Travel Series Lands on Nat Geo This Summer!

National Geographic's 'Best of the World' brand, renowned for its authority on the finest global experiences, has partnered with Emmy Award winner Antoni Porowski to host a new series titled 'Best of the World with Antoni Porowski'. This series aims to delve into diverse destinations by focusing on compelling human stories, offering a unique perspective on the world's culturally rich cities.
The debut season of 'Best of the World with Antoni Porowski' will explore four iconic cities: New York, London, Paris, and Mexico City. Porowski, in an exclusive interview with Collider, explained the meticulous decision-making process behind selecting these locations and their accompanying activities. He emphasized the desire to incorporate his personal perspective and the things that genuinely excite him about a city. While acknowledging the importance of showcasing classic, well-loved attractions, Porowski also highlights his passion for discovering hidden gems by getting lost on less-traveled streets. This approach promises a blend of well-known landmarks, such as Big Ben in London, explored with a fresh twist, alongside lesser-known treasures like Parque Ecológico de Xochimilco, a protected nature reserve within Mexico City.
Given Porowski's culinary background, the series will feature a strong emphasis on food, but will also extensively examine wellness, activities, and sights that are often overlooked. Porowski clarified that 'food' in this context isn't limited to Michelin or multi-Michelin star restaurants; it equally encompasses a local cantina or a quick stop selling a unique sandwich that many might not know about. The four-episode season will guide viewers through these side streets, uncovering establishments that have operated for decades and restaurants that masterfully fuse various cuisines from different continents.
Beyond gastronomy, 'Best of the World with Antoni Porowski' is dedicated to exploring unique adventures that contribute to both physical and mental well-being while traveling abroad. Porowski shared examples of diverse wellness experiences, from visiting a beautiful spa on Governors Island in New York to the surreal experience of cold plunge swimming in Canary Wharf in London's financial district.
Porowski also shed light on the unseen logistical complexities crucial to the show's production. He acknowledged the immense effort of the crew, who work for hours, weeks, and even months to secure locations, permits, and ensure everything is meticulously prepared for filming. He expressed his gratitude for being able to step onto set when everything is ready, always remembering the extensive preparation by the dedicated team.
His upbringing in Montreal, a multicultural hub, instilled in him an ability to find calmness amid chaos, a quality he believes helps him thrive when immersed in diverse environments and
