Noah Kahan Electrifies Rose Bowl with Surprise Chappell Roan Duet!
Noah Kahan played his biggest headlining show ever at the sold-out Rose Bowl Stadium, welcoming over 56,000 fans. The unforgettable night featured a surprise duet with Chappell Roan on her song “California,” amidst a setlist spanning Kahan's hit albums.
Noah Kahan celebrated a monumental career milestone on Saturday, August 15, headlining his largest show to date at the sold-out Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California. The event, part of his 'The Great Divide World Tour', drew an impressive crowd of over 56,000 fans, marking a significant step from his earlier days playing at smaller venues like the 500-capacity Troubadour in West Hollywood.
Early in his extensive 27-song set, Kahan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Los Angeles audience. He then playfully teased a special guest appearance by responding to a ringing payphone onstage. “Hello, God? Oh, you think because it’s my biggest headline show ever that as some point I should bring out a super special guest?” he quipped, building anticipation among the thrilled crowd.
As promised, Kahan later welcomed fellow singer-songwriter Chappell Roan to the stage for a surprise duet. They performed Roan's song “California,” a track from her 2023 debut album, 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess'. The song held particular significance for the occasion, as it narrates Roan’s personal journey from Missouri to Los Angeles in pursuit of her music career. Before their performance, Kahan shared his admiration for Roan, whose real first name is Kayleigh, stating, “This is the first song I ever heard of Kayleigh’s and the reason I fell in love with her music, and I’m just really proud of her and thankful that she would come sing with me.” Roan reciprocated the sentiment, telling the crowd, “Noah always stands up for me, seriously. He’s a good person, for real.”
Kahan's setlist showcased a range of his popular tracks, including fan favorites from his breakthrough album 'Stick Season' such as “Dial Drunk,” “Northern Attitude,” and the title track. He also featured songs from his latest album, 'The Great Divide', which achieved significant success by spending three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, including the title track, “Orbiter,” and “American Cars.”
The 'The Great Divide World Tour' continues its North American leg with an upcoming stop at San Diego’s Petco Park on Monday, August 17, and is set to conclude on August 31 at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park. Following these dates, Kahan will embark on international performances beginning in the fall.
