NBA Legend in Hot Water: Ex-Star Pierce Busted on DUI Charges
Former NBA star Paul Pierce was arrested Tuesday night in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). State police reported that Pierce was found asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle on a Los Angeles highway.
The incident began around 10:40 p.m. when California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers were responding to an unrelated multi-vehicle car crash on the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 101. To facilitate their investigation, four of the six lanes were temporarily closed. Approximately an hour later, as the lanes were being reopened, officers observed a Range Rover SUV stopped in the road, located south of the initial crash site.
