Pop superstar Mariah Carey recently offered new insights into the long-standing public feud with rapper Eminem, particularly addressing the circulating rumor that their drama originated from Eminem's request for her to portray his mother in his 2002 autobiographical film, *8 Mile*.
During a segment of “Plead the Fifth” on *Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen* on Wednesday, October 1, Carey confirmed, “From what I heard there is truth to that.” When pressed by host Andy Cohen about whether this specific incident ignited the feud, Carey responded vaguely, “Um, no. I mean, maybe. It depends what he’s thinking. I really don’t care. Like, whatever he’s said, then I’m that, fine. Not really. But that’s a rap lyric.” Her response showcased her characteristic nonchalance regarding the rapper's public remarks.
Further details supporting the *8 Mile* claim were previously revealed by music producer Damion “Damizza” Young.
