Latin Music Sensation Trueno Joins Forces with Gorillaz on Epic Tour

This week in Latin music, several artists celebrated significant milestones and shared heartwarming moments, from groundbreaking fashion statements and major collaborations to community outreach and historical tributes. Billboard editors highlight these uplifting events that shaped the Latin music world.
Peso Pluma marked a historic first by becoming the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s (CFDA) inaugural Mexican ambassador for New York Fashion Week. Attending a prestigious CFDA cocktail party at Rockefeller Center, hosted by CFDA Chairman Thom Browne alongside designers Michael Kors and Anna Sui, the música Mexicana sensation made his official debut. He was impeccably dressed in Willy Chavarría, styled by Anastasia Walker, and was joined by his girlfriend, pop singer Kenia OS, and fellow ambassador Young Miko, celebrating this significant entry into the fashion world.
Argentine artist Trueno also unveiled a major career development, announcing his feature on Gorillaz’s upcoming studio album, "The Mountain," which is slated for release in March 2026. Trueno will collaborate on the track “The Manifesto,” which also features the late Proof. Furthermore, Trueno is set to join the iconic group for select dates of their "The Mountain Tour," kicking off in Spring 2026 across the U.K. and Ireland. Expressing his honor, Trueno reflected on the journey from "La Boca to where I never imagined," recalling his previous stage appearance with Gorillaz at the 2022 Quilmes Rock Festival, where he freestyled on "Clint Eastwood."
Meanwhile, Chiquis demonstrated her commitment to community service, sharing a new reel where she discussed the importance of compassion and helping others. The Mexican-American singer was shown visiting a local supermarket, where she generously paid for the groceries of numerous strangers. She captioned her post with a dedication to her "people," those who dream, fight, and don't give up, and the hardworking individuals who smile despite life's challenges. This heartfelt gesture also served as a teaser for her forthcoming single, “Pa’ Mi Gente,” scheduled for release on September 18.
In a first for Italy, a museum dedicated to the illustrious career of Laura Pausini is set to open its doors. This landmark institution will be the country's first museum devoted entirely to a music star. Inspired by her father's suggestion to transform their family home into a tourist destination, and with the full backing of Mayor Maria Diletta Beltrani and the Solarolo municipality, the museum will feature a comprehensive collection of Pausini’s awards, memorable stage outfits, personal belongings, and items graciously donated by her fans. The exhibition is scheduled for an official opening on September 13 and will offer free admission to members of her fan club.
