Lakers' Star Luka Doncic Hit with Massive $50K Fine for 'Money' Gesture Against Official

Los Angeles Lakers Forward-Guard, Luka Dončić has been fined $50,000 for directing an "inappropriate and unprofessional gesture" toward a game official, the NBA announced Tuesday.
Dončić was seen making a “money” hand gesture towards officials in the Lakers' 110-97 win over the Knicks on Sunday.
It was the top of the third quarter and Knicks Rookie Frenchman Mohamed Diawara was driving down the lane in transition after Dončić lost possession of the ball.
Doncic was in a ready position just outside the restricted area for a charging foul to be called. The officials held their tongue as Diawara scooped it to Josh Hart for the easy lay-in.
The fine makes up roughly 0.109% of Doncic's $46 million salary this season, according to ESPN.
Doncic has had frequent run-ins with league officials this season, receiving 15 technical fouls called against him in 52 games played.
If he receives a 16th tech, he will have to serve a one-game suspension.
The Lakers, with a record of 39-25, were scheduled to host the Minnesota Timberwolves (40-24) on Tuesday night.
The information regarding Doncic's fine and the game details were provided by the NBA and the Associated Press.
