Music powerhouses Lady Gaga and Doechii have collaborated on a new duet titled “Runway,” which serves as the inaugural musical release from the highly anticipated sequel, “The Devil Wears Prada 2.” The song, named after the fictional fashion magazine central to the film series, was officially announced when it featured prominently as the soundtrack for the movie’s final trailer. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is slated for release in theaters on May 1.

“Runway” was co-written by Lady Gaga herself, alongside her previous collaborators from “Die With a Smile,” Bruno Mars, Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II, and Andrew Watt. Additional writing credits include Cikut, Jaylah Hickmon, and Jayda Love. The production of the track was handled by Mars, Watt, Cirkut, and D’Mile, ensuring a polished and dynamic sound.

The song is explicitly designed for the fashion world, perfectly suited for a catwalk, a theme reinforced by its spoken intro: “No matter what, you better strut.” In the outro, Lady Gaga sings the line, “You were born for the runway,” which subtly alludes to her 2011 Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, “Born This Way,” connecting her past iconic work with this new release.

The collaboration highlights a strong mutual admiration between the two artists. Last year, Doechii had the honor of presenting Lady Gaga with the Innovator Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. During her speech, Doechii affectionately identified as a “Little Monster” from her youth, emphasizing Gaga’s profound influence: “Lady Gaga wasn’t just a pop star; she was a lifeline.
