Kendall Jenner Breaks Silence: Reveals 'Completely Different Views' with Caitlyn
Kendall Jenner recently opened up about her complex yet deeply loving bond with her father, Caitlyn Jenner, during the October 30 episode of The Kardashians. The 29-year-old supermodel shared insights into their dynamic while attending a family gathering with her 76-year-old father, a scene that also touched upon the recent Los Angeles wildfires. Caitlyn expressed her intention to stay at her Malibu home, deeming it safe, and even planning to defend it with a hose rather than evacuating.
Kendall candidly discussed her approach to their relationship in a rare confessional interview. She explained, "I have to compartmentalize my relationship with my Dad in a way because I love her. She’s my dad. We have a good relationship. But sometimes I get frustrated with her with certain things because we just have completely different views on things." This statement highlights the challenge of reconciling personal affection with fundamental differences in perspective.
Despite these occasional frustrations stemming from their divergent viewpoints, Kendall underscored the profound importance of Caitlyn in her life. She articulated her desire to consistently involve her father, stating, "Other than that, I always want to include her. I know she doesn’t have a lot outside of her family and I think that she gets lonely. You don’t ever want someone to be sad, especially your dad and someone you love and care about." This reveals Kendall's empathetic concern for Caitlyn's well-being and her role within the family unit.
The episode, which marked Caitlyn's inaugural appearance on Hulu's The Kardashians after being a regular on the original Keeping Up With the Kardashians, subtly referenced the long-standing differences. While Kendall did not explicitly delve into Caitlyn’s political leanings, Caitlyn is widely known as an outspoken conservative who notably ran for Governor of California, ultimately losing the recall election in 2021. This political aspect has been a point of contention within the family previously.
Kris Jenner, Caitlyn’s ex-wife, had notably addressed Caitlyn's public sharing of her views in a 2016 episode of I Am Cait. Kris had advised, "You’re not a politician, but you think you’re a politician sometimes. Sometimes, when you talk to somebody about your views, not everybody’s going to always agree. And sometimes, you can get a little cranky [about that]." This history underscores the recurring theme of differing opinions between Caitlyn and other family members. The family dinner itself took place at Kris’ Hidden Hills residence, El Dorado Meadow, a property that Caitlyn once shared with Kris and was a familiar backdrop during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians era.
