Kate Cassidy Discovers Liam Payne’s Heartfelt Goodbye Note Ahead of His Death Anniversary

Days before the first anniversary of Liam Payne’s death, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy revealed she discovered a poignant, hidden handwritten note from the late singer. The 26-year-old American influencer shared on TikTok that she had stumbled upon an unopened goodbye letter from Liam, which he had left for her before his tragic passing on October 16 last year. The former One Direction star died at 31 years old following a fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a loss that continues to resonate with fans worldwide.
Cassidy explained that she found the note inside a bag she hadn’t opened since his death while packing for an upcoming trip to Miami. She emphasized finding light in such “signs” rather than sadness. Reading the note aloud, it said: “I hate when we don’t get to say bye so…..bye! I love you Katelyn, have the best day. Lots of love, ME! 444.” Kate has previously spoken about the significance of the ‘444’ angel numbers Liam would leave on notes around their home, a small but powerful detail that has come to symbolize comfort and connection for his grieving fans.
This discovery comes shortly after Louis Tomlinson opened up about Liam’s death during an interview on Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast. Tomlinson recounted learning the news from Niall Horan while in the car in Los Angeles, describing a similar emotional reaction to when his sister Félicité died in 2019. He expressed a sense of regret, feeling that his efforts to help Liam, who was struggling at the time, were not enough. “My 150 per cent wasn’t nearly enough,” he admitted, acknowledging his own arrogance in believing he could have solved what were deeper issues.
A post-mortem examination later confirmed that Liam Payne died from multiple traumas and “internal and external haemorrhage” sustained after falling from a third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires. His sudden passing left a lasting impact not only on his fans but also on the entire music community, with tributes continuing to pour in across the world.
