ITV Expert Reveals 'Secret Code' for Quality Street Savings

ITV's deals expert and 'Coupon King', Jordon Cox, has unveiled a money-saving secret for Tesco Clubcard holders, showing shoppers how to determine the expiry dates of Clubcard Price promotions directly from the shelf. Known for his television appearances and social media videos under the username @couponkiduk, Jordon regularly shares valuable tips for bargain hunters.
In a recent viral video, Jordon revealed a 'secret code' on Tesco shelf labels that allows customers to check when an offer ends. He explained that for any item with a Clubcard Price, shoppers should look for a six-digit number beginning with '25'. When read in reverse, this sequence reveals the exact expiry date of the deal: the last two digits represent the day, the middle two the month, and the first two the year.
This clever trick enables regular shoppers to strategically stock up on frequently purchased items before their special prices revert to full cost, ensuring consistent savings on their shopping trips. Jordon illustrated this with an example featuring a Quality Street Chocolate Tub (550g), which Clubcard holders can purchase at a reduced price until December 2, 2025. This offer saves shoppers £3.95 and is available both in-store and online for delivery. The tip has already gone viral, garnering over 290,000 views on social media, with many users expressing surprise and gratitude.
Beyond saving tips, Tesco stores are also featuring new festive delights. Krispy Kreme has launched a limited-edition range of doughnuts inspired by popular Quality Street chocolates, available at Tesco counters. Reporter Andrew Nuttall sampled the new flavors at his local Tesco, offering his insights.
The range includes two tempting options: 'The Purple One' and 'Caramel Swirl'. Andrew was particularly impressed by 'The Purple One', which boasts a rich caramel and chocolate hazelnut filling. He noted that it tasted remarkably similar to the beloved Quality Street chocolate, with the added texture of a doughnut, and expressed his willingness to repurchase it, even if it wasn’t part of a Tesco meal deal.
However, the 'Caramel Swirl' received a less enthusiastic review. While acknowledging that the flavors were accurate, Andrew felt it wasn’t particularly festive, as caramel doughnuts are generally available year-round. He also found it excessively sweet, with an 'overboard' amount of caramel that left him feeling unwell and struggling to finish it.
