House of the Dragon Season 3 Trailer Unleashes Dragons and Iron Throne Warfare!

The expansive world of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire continues to grow on screen with multiple spin-offs following the original Game of Thrones series.
Among them, House of the Dragon explores the Targaryen dynasty roughly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, adapting Martin’s Fire & Blood.
The first season premiered in 2022 to largely positive reception, while the second season faced more critical responses.
HBO is set to launch Season 3 in June, and the series has already been renewed through Season 4, which will conclude the story.
Showrunner Ryan Condal confirmed that the series will end after the fourth season.
George R.R. Martin maintains a closer hands-on approach with another prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which airs on HBO Max and is set 90 years before Game of Thrones and roughly 75 years after House of the Dragon.
The new Season 3 teaser shows Aemond Targaryen on the Iron Throne following his brother Aegon’s disfigurement.
Queen Alicent Hightower secretly departs King’s Landing to surrender the city to her rival, Rhaenyra, who has discovered new dragons, threatening Alicent’s faction.
Large-scale battles are teased, including the Battle of the Gullet, where Rhaenyra’s son Jace leads his dragon against the Velaryon navy.
Season 3 will feature returning cast members Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, and Abubakar Salim.
New additions include James Norton as Ormund Hightower, Tommy Flanagan as Lord Roderick Dustin, Dan Fogler as Ser Torrhen Manderly, Tom Cullen as Ser Luthor Largent, Joplin Sibtain as Ser “Bold” Jon Roxton, and Barry Sloane as Ser Adrian Redfort.
House of the Dragon is co-created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, both serving as Executive Producers alongside Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock, and Philippa Goslett.
Directors for Season 3 episodes include Clare Kilner, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Andrij Parekh, and Loni Peristere.
Fans can catch up on Seasons 1 and 2 on HBO Max before the third season’s premiere.
