Horrifying Revelation: Mum on Mounjaro Forgets to Feed Children, Sparks Outrage

A recent TikTok post by a mother on the weight-loss drug Mounjaro sparked a significant online debate after she admitted to sometimes "forgetting to feed" her children due to the drug's appetite-suppressing effects. The woman, who has achieved a substantial weight loss through the GLP-1 injections, shared a 'before' picture and then a snap with her two kids, adding the text: "Thanks. Sometimes I forget to feed them because I'm on Mounjaro." She elaborated in the caption, "Not easy remembering these little people are hungry," a statement that initially left many social media users stunned and horrified.
Mounjaro, a GLP-1 drug administered weekly, works by suppressing appetite, which aids in weight loss. The mother's candid admission ignited a fierce discussion in the comments section of her TikTok. A segment of users vehemently criticized her remarks, with one commenter stating, "I can forget a lot but definitely not feeding them," and another sharing a similar experience with a grandparent, leading them to pack a packed lunch for their child. Some comments even speculated whether this might inadvertently adjust children's eating habits, suggesting potential "good generational benefits" if the mother had previously been overfeeding them.
However, a surprisingly large number of people expressed solidarity with the woman, finding her comments highly "relatable." Many users echoed her sentiments, describing their own experiences with reduced hunger and disrupted meal times due to Mounjaro. One person wrote, "I can relate. I don’t feel hungry at all! So meal times are all over the place, I forget they feel hungry!" Another agreed, recounting how their child had to prompt them for tea at 6 PM. Some admitted to similar forgetfulness with pets, leading them to set reminder alarms. The sentiment of never seeing "anything more real" was common, with users sharing how their children would ask "where's the food at, we're hungry" in the initial weeks on the medication. Several individuals confirmed setting alarms as a solution, and one mum humorously noted that her kids found the "treat drawer is terrible since I went on MJ." The original TikToker herself hinted that her post was intended to be light-hearted, responding to a commenter by saying it was "not that deep."
