Hilda Baci's Guinness World Record Triumph Confirmed!

Hilda Baci, in an monumental partnership with Gino Nigeria, recently etched her name in history by orchestrating the preparation of the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice the world has ever witnessed. This extraordinary feat, undertaken on September 12th at Eko Hotels in Lagos, has now been officially confirmed and recognized by Guinness World Records (GWR), solidifying a new global benchmark for the beloved West African dish.
The record-breaking serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, prepared with immense dedication and teamwork, saw the colossal pot weighing an astounding 8,780 kilograms. This achievement marks another significant milestone for Hilda Baci, who continues to push boundaries in the culinary world and bring Nigerian cuisine to international prominence.
This latest success follows Hilda's previous notable venture in 2023, where she broke and set a new world record for the longest cooking marathon, enduring for an incredible 93 hours and 11 minutes. Although that particular record was subsequently surpassed later the same year, the attempt significantly elevated Hilda’s public profile and career, leading to numerous brand ambassadorships and collaborations that showcased her talent and influence.
For the largest pot of jollof rice record, Guinness World Records stipulated specific rules and ingredients that had to be adhered to. Hilda meticulously followed these guidelines, sharing the precise measurements of every component that contributed to her record-setting creation. Key ingredients, cooked in the gigantic pot, included 4,000 kilograms of washed basmati rice, which alone constituted at least 80% of the total weight. Additionally, 164 kilograms of fresh goat meat, 220 kilograms of Gino Asun & peppered chicken cubes, and 600 kilograms of her signature jollof pepper mix were incorporated into the dish.
A crucial aspect of the GWR rules is the mandate that the food prepared must be shared, emphasizing the principle of preventing waste. True to this spirit of community, Hilda Baci stated that the entire process involved “nine hours of fire, passion and teamwork,” consuming 1,200 kilograms of gas. The grand endeavor culminated in the preparation of 16,600 plates of rice, which were “served with joy, love and community” to thousands. This achievement not only celebrates culinary excellence but also embodies a powerful message of generosity and shared experience, garnering widespread pride and congratulations for Hilda.
