Golden Globes 2026: ‘One Battle After Another’ and ‘Sinners’ Lead Nominees in Star-Studded Slate
The nominees for the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards have been officially announced, marking an exciting year that will introduce a brand-new award for Best Podcast. The ceremony is scheduled to air on CBS on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 8 pm ET to 11 pm ET, celebrating excellence across film, television, and emerging audio platforms.
In the film categories, One Battle After Another leads with nine nominations, followed by Sentimental Value with eight, and Sinners with seven. Television contenders include The White Lotus with six nominations, Adolescence with five, and both Only Murders in the Building and Severance securing four nominations each, highlighting the competitive landscape.
Among film distributors, Neon tops the chart with 21 nominations, while Warner Bros. Pictures follows with 16, Netflix with 13, and Focus Features with 10. In television, Netflix dominates with 22 nominations, followed by HBO Max at 15, and Apple TV securing 12 nominations.
This year also celebrates 27 performers receiving their first-ever nominations. Notable newcomers include Aimee Lou Wood for The White Lotus, Jacob Elordi for Frankenstein and The Narrow Road to the Deep North, Owen Cooper for Adolescence, and Tramell Tilman for Severance. Returning nominees include Martin Short and Steve Martin, each securing their fifth consecutive nods for Only Murders in the Building, while Jeremy Allen White received his fourth nomination for The Bear. This reflects the consistent excellence across both film and television.
The Golden Globes also highlight achievements in music and original works. Best Original Score nominations include Alexandre Desplat for Frankenstein, Ludwig Göransson for Sinners, and Jonny Greenwood for One Battle After Another. Meanwhile, Best Original Song nominees feature tracks such as “Dream As One” from Avatar: Fire and Ash, “Golden” from Kpop Demon Hunters, and “I Lied To You” from Sinners, underscoring the event’s celebration of musical artistry.
For television, dramas like The Diplomat and The Pitt contend for Best Drama Series, while Abbott Elementary and The Bear lead the Musical or Comedy Series category. Limited series nominations spotlight Adolescence, Black Mirror, and The Girlfriend, among others. Performances by actors such as Jacob Elordi, Claire Danes, Selena Gomez, and Ayo Edebiri highlight the depth and diversity of talent recognized this year.
In the newly introduced Best Podcast category, nominees include Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, Good Hang with Amy Poehler, The Mel Robbins Podcast, Smartless, and Up First from NPR, acknowledging the growing influence of audio storytelling alongside film and television.
With this star-studded slate, the 83rd Golden Globes promise a night of glamour, recognition, and celebration across all entertainment mediums, cementing the event as one of Hollywood’s most anticipated award shows.
