Giovanny Ayala Rockets to the Top with Historic First Billboard No. 1!

Rising Regional Mexican artist Giovanny Ayala has officially scored the biggest milestone of his career — his first-ever No. 1 on a Billboard chart. His single “No Estaba Hablando En Serio” soared to the top of Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart (dated Nov. 1), climbing from No. 9 after a striking 35% surge in audience impressions. The track reached 6.4 million listeners across the United States during the Nov. 17–23 tracking week, according to Luminate.
Released on June 26 via Colmena/Azteca Music, the heartfelt track achieved the top spot in its 16th week on the chart — a steady rise that underscores Ayala’s growing dominance in the genre. It previously spent four weeks within the top 10 before clinching No. 1, cementing Ayala’s emergence as a leading voice in the modern Regional Mexican scene.
This victory also signals a first for his label COLMENA Music, which celebrates its first No. 1 of 2025 and its second overall, following the success of Los Ángeles de Charly’s “El Tonto” in 2024. For Ayala, who previously charted six songs under Gerencia360, including the No. 7 hit “Quien Se Apunta” with Luis R. Conriquez in 2022, the new success marks a defining moment in his evolving artistic journey.
The track’s success has also spilled over to the Latin Airplay chart, where it jumped from No. 20 to No. 4, powered by significant airplay from influential stations including KSND (Portland, OR), KLNO (Dallas), and WOJO (Chicago).
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny continues his unstoppable streak on the broader Latin Airplay chart, notching his 30th career No. 1 with “Nuevayol.” The track climbed from No. 5 to the top, earning the Greatest Gainer title after drawing 7.8 million audience impressions, a 30% week-over-week jump. It marks the fifth song from his album ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’ to reach No. 1, following “El Clúb,” “Baile Inolvidable,” “EOO,” and “DTMF.”
This achievement further cements Bad Bunny’s standing among the most successful Latin acts in Billboard history. The current leaderboard places J Balvin at the top with 39 No. 1s, followed by Ozuna (36), Enrique Iglesias (32), Bad Bunny (30), Daddy Yankee (29), Maluma (25), and Shakira (24).
As “No Estaba Hablando En Serio” continues to dominate the airwaves, Giovanny Ayala joins the upper ranks of Latin artists shaping the sound of 2025 — a testament to his artistry, resilience, and rising global appeal.
