Gen V Star Jaz Sinclair Bids Farewell After Show's Shock Cancellation

The Prime Video series “Gen V,” a popular spinoff of “The Boys,” has been officially canceled after its initial season. Following this news, star Jaz Sinclair, who portrays the powerful hero Marie Moreau, took to her Instagram story to express her profound gratitude to her fans and for her time on the show. Sinclair conveyed her heartfelt thanks, stating her appreciation for the incredible experience and the support from her audience, promising to share more thoughts in the future.
Jaz Sinclair’s character, Marie Moreau, is a formidable supe with the unique ability to control blood and manipulate muscular tissue. Throughout the series, Marie is driven by a quest to uncover the truth behind Godolkin University, the institution where young supes train to potentially join the elite superhero team, The Seven. The first season concluded with Marie Moreau aligning herself with the Starlighter resistance, poised to confront Homelander.
Despite the cancellation, executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg have assured fans that the stories of the “Gen V” characters will continue within the broader VCU. In a statement, they confirmed their commitment to integrating these characters into “The Boys” Season 5 and other upcoming VCU projects, promising that viewers will see them again. An individual with knowledge of the situation further corroborated that characters from “Gen V” are indeed slated to appear in future episodes of the fifth and final season of “The Boys.”
“Gen V” first premiered in 2023, with its second season having aired between September and October 2025. The series was set within the confines of Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, providing a backdrop for young supes to hone their abilities. The ensemble cast included Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Hamish Linklater.
With its parent show, “The Boys,” set to conclude with its current season, the future of the VCU extends to other projects. The prequel series “Vought Rising,” which will delve into the exploits of Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash) in the 1950s, is currently the only in-universe production in development and is anticipated to premiere in 2027.
