Kenya, Morocco Sign 11 Deals to Boost Trade, Development Cooperation

Kenya and Morocco have strengthened bilateral relations by signing 11 cooperation agreements during a high-level meeting in Nairobi, marking a new phase of partnership between both countries.

The agreements aim to deepen collaboration across key sectors including agriculture, health, education, and the blue economy, with a shared focus on sustainable development and economic growth.

The move reflects growing efforts among African nations to enhance intra-continental cooperation and address shared development challenges.

The partnership also targets marine resource development under the blue economy framework, with emphasis on fisheries, aquaculture, and sustainable management of ocean resources.

Wildlife management and conservation were also included in the agreements, highlighting the importance of biodiversity protection and tourism development for both countries’ economies.

Focus on Skills Development and Social Progress

Beyond economic cooperation, the agreements prioritize scholarships, skills exchange, and capacity building to support human capital development.

Women’s empowerment initiatives also form part of the partnership, reflecting a commitment to gender inclusion and broader social progress through education, training, and professional development opportunities.

The agreements were signed by Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, and Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.

Both countries expressed optimism that the strengthened partnership will address shared challenges, promote inclusive growth, and expand cooperation across multiple sectors for long-term development.
