The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) has identified the cotton sector as a crucial pillar for the national economy, emphasizing its significant potential to generate employment opportunities, particularly for the youth across the country. This significant declaration was made by AFA Chairman Cornelly Serem during a recent stakeholders' forum held in Lamu County, where discussions centered on unlocking the full value of agricultural sectors in Kenya.

Chairman Serem highlighted that the entire cotton value chain, from cultivation and harvesting to processing and manufacturing, presents a fertile ground for job creation.
