Catastrophic Nightclub Blaze in Goa Kills Dozens, Including Tourists

A tragic fire at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, North Goa, has resulted in the deaths of at least 25 people, including several tourists. The incident, which occurred around midnight, plunged the Indian state, renowned for its vibrant nightlife and tourism, into grief. Goa's chief minister, Pramod Sawant, expressed profound sorrow, stating, “Today is a very painful day for all of us in Goa.” He visited the site and promptly ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the incident, vowing stringent action against anyone found responsible for negligence.
Initial police investigations suggest the fire originated on the first floor before rapidly engulfing the entire building. Most of the victims were tragically trapped in the basement area of the club, succumbing to suffocation. Firefighters battled through the night to control the blaze and rescue survivors, but the building was ultimately reduced to a blackened shell.
