ATHLOS Shakes Up Athletics with Mega Partnership & Quarter-Million Dollar World Record Prize!
)
Organizers of the highly anticipated ATHLOS track meet in New York have announced a groundbreaking partnership with Cash App, alongside an unprecedented World Record bonus of $250,000 for any athlete who achieves such a feat. The meet, scheduled to take place at the renowned Icahn Stadium in New York on October 10, is set to showcase some of the world's top female athletes competing in an event that promises a compelling fusion of exceptional athletic performances and engaging entertainment.
The official partnership with Cash App, unveiled via ATHLOS's social media platforms, positions the financial service as the official Payments Partner for the athletes. This collaboration is designed to revolutionize athlete compensation, introducing a new model where performance translates into immediate pay. Cash App will facilitate instant prize payments for all eligible athletes the moment results are confirmed, a significant step towards a 'faster future' for track and field. Beyond these record-setting payout times, the substantial $250,000 World Record bonus underscores the event's commitment to pushing the boundaries of athletic achievement, offering real-time recognition and an athlete-first experience that aims to elevate the entire sport.
This year's event builds on the success of the inaugural ATHLOS meet, which debuted successfully on September 26, 2024, at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island in New York City. That event featured an array of the world's fastest women, including Olympic champions and World Record holders. With an offer of the largest-ever purse for a women-only competition at $60,000 for each race winner, the 2024 organizers modernized the sport by seamlessly integrating competition with entertainment, notably including a performance by top musician Megan Thee Stallion after the final race, which garnered widespread acclaim from both participants and fans globally.
For the 2025 iteration, organizers have further elevated the meet by transforming it into a two-day athletics competition that now encompasses field events. This expansion includes a partnership with Olympic champion Tara Davis-Woodhall, who will host an exciting field competition at Times Square on October 9. With music star Ciara also confirmed to perform, the ATHLOS meet is poised to deliver a spectacular climax to the 2025 athletics season, blending elite competition with star-studded entertainment.
