Amazon Thriller 'Crime 101' Trailer Unleashes Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo & More Stars

Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated film “Crime 101,” an adaptation of Don Winslow’s compelling novella of the same name. The movie, featuring an impressive ensemble cast led by Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry, is slated for a theatrical release on February 13.
Set against the sprawling backdrop of Los Angeles, “Crime 101” plunges into the high-stakes world of an elusive jewel thief, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth, who orchestrates intricate heists along the iconic 101 freeway. As he meticulously prepares for what he intends to be his final job, his path unexpectedly converges with that of an astute insurance broker, played by Halle Berry. This chance encounter forces the two disparate individuals to forge an unlikely collaboration.
The tension escalates as a relentless detective, brought to life by Mark Ruffalo, begins to close in on their operation. As the multimillion-dollar heist draws nearer, the narrative skillfully blurs the traditional lines between the hunter and the hunted, compelling all three central characters to confront the profound consequences of their actions and choices.
Beyond its leading stars, the film boasts a formidable supporting cast including Monica Barbaro, Barry Keoghan, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Nick Nolte, Tate Donovan, Devon Bostick, Payman Maadi, Babak Tatfi, Deborah Hedwall, Paul Adelstein, Drew Powell, Matthew Del Negro, and John Douglas, ensuring a rich tapestry of performances.
“Crime 101” is helmed by acclaimed director Bart Layton, known for his previous works such as “American Animals” and “The Imposter.” Layton also co-wrote the intricate screenplay alongside Peter Straughan, who earned an Academy Award for best adapted screenplay for his work on “Conclave” in 2025. The film is a collaborative production effort, with Hemsworth, Layton, Ben Grayson, Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, Dimitri Doganis, Derrin Schlesinger, and Shane Salerno serving as producers. Contributing producing studios include Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Raw, Working Title Films, The Story Factory, and Wild Slate. Domestically, “Crime 101” will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, while Sony Pictures Releasing International will manage its international distribution.
