New research has highlighted that brown rice contains higher levels of arsenic compared to white rice. While this finding is generally not considered a significant health concern for most healthy adults, particular attention is drawn to children under the age of five, for whom the risk of increased arsenic exposure is more pronounced. Experts emphasize the critical role of a varied and balanced diet in mitigating the potential effects of heavy metals, including arsenic, for both children and adults.
