AFCON Firestorm: Eric Chelle's Squad Under Attack from Ex-Super Eagles and English Clubs

Nigeria's preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have been overshadowed by significant debate and criticism following the release of head coach Eric Chelle’s final 28-man Super Eagles squad. One of the most notable points of contention is the inclusion of Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu. The English Championship club has openly voiced its disappointment, stating that the timing of his call-up is far from ideal.
