Aerosmith Makes History! Band Secures Top 10 Billboard Album Six Decades Running

Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD’s collaborative album, "One More Time," has achieved a significant debut, charting at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 (dated December 6). This milestone is particularly notable for Aerosmith, as it positions them as only the second group, and fifth act overall, to secure a newly-charting top 10 album in each of the last six decades, spanning from the 1970s through the 2020s. For YUNGBLUD, "One More Time" marks his inaugural top 10 entry on the Billboard 200, following four prior charting titles. Conversely, it is Aerosmith's tenth album to reach the top 10, their last appearance being with their 2012 full-length studio album, "Music From Another Dimension!," which debuted and peaked at No. 5.
The Billboard 200 chart is the definitive ranking of the most popular albums of the week in the U.S., based on multi-metric consumption measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. This system accounts for album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit is defined as one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new December 6, 2025-dated chart is posted in full on Billboard’s website on December 2.
Aerosmith's consistent presence on the Billboard 200 top 10 across decades is remarkable. They notched their first top 10 in 1976 with "Rocks" (peaking at No. 3), which was their only top 10 of the 1970s. The 1980s saw "Pump" reach No. 5 in 1989. The band then achieved three top 10 albums in the 1990s: "Get a Grip" (No. 1), "Big Ones" (No. 6), and "Nine Lives" (No. 1). This success continued into the 2000s with three more top 10 entries: "Just Push Play" (No. 2), "O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits" (No. 2), and "Honkin’ On Bobo" (No. 5). In the 2010s, "Music From Another Dimension!" peaked at No. 5, leading up to their current top 10 in the 2020s with "One More Time."
This achievement places Aerosmith in an elite category. They are the second group, following The Rolling Stones, to have at least one newly-charting top 10 album in every decade from the 1970s through the 2020s. Among all acts, only five artists have managed this feat in that span: Aerosmith, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, and James Taylor.
The five-track album "One More Time" was preceded by its first single, “My Only Angel.” This track debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart in October and has since climbed to a new peak of No. 6 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart (dated December 6). “My Only Angel” is particularly significant as it marks Aerosmith's 25th top 10 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and YUNGBLUD's first. Moreover, it is Aerosmith's first top 10 on this chart since 2004’s “Baby, Please Don’t Go” reached No. 7, and the band’s highest-charting hit since “Jaded” spent five weeks at No. 1 in 2001.
