Kaduna Prepares to Host Tinubu as APC Sets October 24 Campaign Launch
Kaduna State is set to host the flag-off of the APC 2027 Presidential Campaign, with President Bola Tinubu expected to attend. Preparations are complete at Kaduna Township Stadium, including extensive security arrangements, as officials anticipate a massive turnout of supporters.
Kaduna State is preparing to host the All Progressives Congress (APC) as President Bola Tinubu is expected to launch his 2027 re-election campaign on Saturday, October 24.
Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe, who chairs the rally’s Local Organising Committee, said preparations at Kaduna Township Stadium were nearing completion after an inspection on Wednesday.
She said the holding area, pavilions and other facilities were ready, with only a few finishing touches remaining. Organisers also plan to screen attendees before allowing them into the venue.
Security and crowd preparations
Balarabe said the committee had consulted security officials at state and federal levels to plan arrangements before, during and after the rally.
The state expects APC members and supporters to travel to Kaduna for the event. Commissioner for Information and Culture Ahmed Maiyaki said hotels and service apartments across the city were fully booked, although the expected turnout has not been independently confirmed.
The campaign launch is part of the APC’s wider preparations for the 2027 presidential election. The party previously announced Kaduna as the starting point for Tinubu’s re-election campaign, with further rallies planned across the country.
Why Kaduna was chosen
The organising committee has described the North-West as an important region for the APC. Maiyaki also pointed to federal projects and appointments involving Kaduna residents as reasons the state welcomed the decision to host the launch.
The rally will give the ruling party an opportunity to present its campaign message ahead of the election. Opposition parties, meanwhile, are also preparing to challenge the APC as political activity builds towards 2027.
With security arrangements and venue preparations approaching completion, attention now turns to Saturday’s event and the messages Tinubu and other party leaders deliver at the campaign’s opening rally.
