Mr Mba Alenbila Zechariah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya North, has assured residents of the judicious use of taxes and levies they pay to the assembly.

He said the taxes and levies would be directly used to provide physical infrastructure that would help improve the living conditions of the people, and provide evidence of accountability of the work of the assembly.

Speaking during a tour of some communities in the area as part of his community engagement programme, the DCE pointed out that property rates, building permits and other levies, which were being paid by residents shall be spent on projects that would bear testimonies of improved living conditions in their various communities.
Among the communities the DCE visited were Asuofua, Amoaman, Akropong, Atwima-Koforidua, Bokankye, Owabia, Assase, Fufuo and Asamang.

He mentioned the building of classroom blocks and provision of educational materials, markets, health facilities, roads and other social amenities, as the priority areas of his administration and called for the support of the people.

Mr Zechariah appealed to the various farmer groups to register with the District Assembly to enable them benefit from funds, input and other forms of support under the Feed Ghana programme of the government.

Nana Banie Ahenkan II, Queen mother of Asuofua, commended the government for the asphalt and reshaping of some roads in the district and appealed for the completion of all ongoing roads and other projects in the area.

Nana Dr Agyenim Boateng, Amoamanhene, reminded the government of the various promises it made during the 2024 election campaigns and appealed to the DCE to work to fulfill those promises to help improve the livelihoods of the people and justify the confidence the people reposed in the National Democratic Congress.

The DCE also interacted with farmers, business owners and cooperative societies in the communities to exchange ideas and called for their support at all times.
