Juaboso (WN/R), May 19, GNA – Mr Alexander Adu Quist, the Sefwi Juaboso District Chief Executive (DCE), has expressed his commitment to improving sanitation and revenue mobilisation to drive development in the area.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the DCE emphasised that one of the key areas of focus in his administration would be sanitation and revenue mobilisation and infrastructure development and called for collaboration among the staff to achieve that aim.

He noted that the sanitation problems required multi-sectorial collaboration with the various stakeholders to help organise regular clean-up exercise across the district, especially in the capital.

Mr Quist cautioned those who dumped refuse indiscriminately, saying offenders would be made to face the Assembly’s sanitation by-laws.

He said: “I have observed that some drainage systems within the district have been choked with silt, and the Assembly is willing to deploy its desilting vehicles and tricycles to clear the drains in the areas.”

The DCE also raised concerns about the low level of Internally Generated Fund (IGF), which the finance officers had attributed to lack of incentives and motivation for the mobilizers.

Mr Quist said the local revenue mobilisation was a key source of funding for various developmental activities, including infrastructure development, social services, and economic activities.

He said he would lead a revenue mobilisation drive to help generate adequate funds to undertake the development projects for the people.
