President Bola Tinubu embarked on a significant spiritual journey to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to perform the Muslim lesser Hajj, known as Umrah. His departure from Abuja initiated a period dedicated to deep spiritual reflection, devotion, and heartfelt prayers for the continued peace, unity, stability, and progress of Nigeria. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, underscored the profound importance of this pilgrimage, framing it as a vital opportunity for spiritual renewal and national supplication.

During his sacred visit to the Holy City, President Tinubu reportedly articulated his firm conviction in the preeminence of divine will. He was quoted saying, "I believe that Allah’s wish in His court must prevail. And there’s no other God but Allah. Allah is the only one who can define a human being, what he will be, and what he will become." This statement offers insight into the President's personal faith and its guiding role in his perspective on leadership and destiny.

Senator Abdulaziz Yari, who serves as the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), elaborated on the comprehensive strategy for President Tinubu's re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general election. Speaking to journalists in Mecca, where he joined President Tinubu, Senator Yari identified three critical pillars for achieving electoral success: President Tinubu’s unwavering faith in God, his documented performance during his tenure in office, and the APC-PCC's robust capacity to effectively persuade Nigerian citizens. He asserted that these combined factors, coupled with divine intervention, are anticipated to culminate in victory.

The APC-PCC has publicly committed itself to an extensive effort aimed at convincing Nigerians to support President Tinubu's re-election bid. Senator Yari drew parallels with the President’s spiritual engagement in the Holyland, remarking, "that’s what makes a leader because when you ask him, he first prayed for the country, prayed for every Nigerian and also he says this election is an election that God has selected the person who will be a leader and only Him that can put a leader or otherwise." He further detailed the campaign’s methodology, emphasizing a reliance on Allah's guidance, similar to the 2023 election, and the imperative for active engagement: "Allah says we should welcome and work that all the procedure we are doing to campaign, to talk to people, to convince them, to show them what we have done, what we have achieved and by God’s grace, people will be convinced to elect us."
