XRP Frenzy: ETFs Inject $22 Million in Game-Changing Buys!
US spot XRP ETFs recorded significant net inflows on September 25th, extending a positive trend despite the XRP token facing selling pressure. Bitwise and Franklin's XRP ETFs led the charge, while Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs also saw substantial capital inflows. This divergence highlights that while institutional interest in XRP remains strong, it's not currently enough to counter broader market pressures on the token's price.
According to SoSoValue data, US spot XRP Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) collectively experienced a net inflow of approximately $22.65 million on September 25th. This positive trend continued a recent period of inflows into XRP investment products, occurring even as the underlying XRP token faced renewed selling pressure in the broader market. Bitwise's XRP ETF led these inflows for the session, attracting approximately $18.39 million, which brought its cumulative net inflows to roughly $677 million. Following closely, the Franklin XRP ETF secured the second position with daily inflows of approximately $4.26 million, pushing its cumulative net inflows to about $501 million.
Across all spot XRP ETFs, the total net assets reached approximately $1.77 billion, and cumulative historical net inflows stood at around $1.79 billion. Based on the reported data, XRP represented approximately 1.80% of the funds' net asset value. These recent inflows underscore a sustained buying trend, building on a previous positive session on September 23rd, when spot XRP ETFs recorded about $18.04 million in net inflows. During that session, Bitwise once again accounted for the largest share, receiving approximately $11.54 million, bringing its cumulative inflows to roughly $649 million at the time. Franklin's XRP ETF added another $6.50 million, increasing its cumulative total to about $492 million.
The consistent inflow sessions suggest that institutional exposure through spot ETF products remains robust, even as market conditions for XRP have become less favorable. It is important to note, however, that ETF flows represent capital moving into or out of investment products and do not always directly correlate with the same-day price performance of the underlying asset.
Beyond XRP, other major cryptocurrency ETFs also reported positive flows on September 25th. Bitcoin spot ETFs, for instance, registered approximately $134 million in net inflows, extending their positive streak to seven consecutive sessions, according to SoSoValue. BlackRock's IBIT was a significant contributor, accounting for about $96.99 million of the total Bitcoin inflows, while Fidelity's FBTC recorded around $49.32 million. Ethereum spot ETFs also maintained positive momentum, with approximately $86.95 million in net inflows, marking their sixth consecutive session of positive flows. BlackRock's ETHA and ETHB products contributed approximately $50.37 million and $31.88 million, respectively, to the Ethereum total.
Despite the sustained ETF inflows, the price of XRP has not seen immediate strength. On Friday, XRP was trading around $1.54, experiencing a decline of approximately 4.6% over the preceding 24 hours. Its market capitalization similarly fell by 4.6% to roughly $96.89 billion, and its 24-hour trading volume decreased by 22.06% to approximately $4.97 billion. This divergence between positive ETF flows and falling spot performance highlights the distinction between institutional demand for investment products and short-term market positioning. While continuous inflows can signal ongoing interest in gaining exposure to XRP, they do not entirely counteract selling pressure from other segments of the market. Therefore, although the latest ETF data provides evidence of sustained institutional participation, XRP's recent price decline indicates that these positive fund flows are currently insufficient to prevent broader market pressures from affecting the asset.
