Van Zelst Named Head Basketball Coach at Drew University

D3 Drew University is set to appoint Ryan Van Zelst as their new head men’s basketball coach, as confirmed by Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing). This significant coaching change comes after the departure of Mike McSloy, who recently transitioned to become the head coach at Ithaca. An official announcement from Drew University regarding Van Zelst’s new leadership role is expected in the near future.
Van Zelst brings a diverse and valuable coaching background to the Drew University program. Most recently, he served on the staff at Millersville prior to last season. His experience also includes a season as the head coach at D3 Cabrini University, a period that coincided with the university’s eventual closure. Before his time at Cabrini, Van Zelst held the head coaching position at D3 Penn State Abington, where he successfully guided his squad to an impressive 18-9 record. His track record across multiple Division III programs underscores his qualifications and readiness to lead the Drew University men's basketball team.
