Tragic Loss: Rising Rapper HavinMotion, 22, Gunned Down in Unsolved Shooting

Rising Maryland rapper HavinMotion, born Dwayne Omar Isaacs, Jr., 22, was tragically shot and killed in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, April 23. According to a press release from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting at 10:11 p.m., where they found an adult male victim unconscious and not breathing, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts by DC Fire and EMS, Isaacs succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The victim was confirmed as Upper Marlboro, Maryland resident Isaacs. D.C.'s Chief Medical Examiner determined the rapper's manner of death was "multiple gunshot wounds" and ruled it a "homicide." A police report further described the incident as a "gun involved murder," noting that Isaacs was pronounced dead less than 20 minutes after the initial response.

The Washington Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a $25,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest in the case. As of Tuesday morning, April 28, the investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, with no information available regarding suspects or a potential motive.

HavinMotion was a prolific artist with a significant online presence, boasting 113,062 monthly listeners and 28,100 followers on Spotify. He had recently released a pair of songs on his YouTube channel, including a remix of Kehlani’s “Folded” and the trap anthem “Druggin N’ Thuggin,” the video for which opened with a disclaimer stating, “All weapons in this video are AI-generated for the purpose of entertainment.” Throughout his career, he released a string of singles, EPs, and albums, including the EPs Stuck Ina Mix and Lost Files in 2022, followed by 2023 EPs Lost Files 2, 100 Day Run, and Bang Music. His 2024 albums included Motion, Trappin In Beverley, and Sorry Ma, with 2025 LPs featuring Romantic Trapper, F–k You Pay Me, and Rich Junkie, in addition to this year’s 16-track album How Life Been.
