Google Unlocks AI for Pentagon After Anthropic's Bold Refusal!

Google has reportedly granted the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) access to its artificial intelligence (AI) technology for classified networks, effectively allowing all lawful uses of its AI. This development follows a significant public dispute involving another AI model maker, Anthropic, which had previously refused to offer the DoD similar terms for its AI. Anthropic had insisted on including guardrails to prevent its AI from being utilized for domestic mass surveillance or in autonomous weapon systems.
Due to Anthropic's refusal to agree to the DoD's requested terms, the Pentagon controversially labeled the company a “supply-chain risk,” a designation typically reserved for foreign adversaries.
