The Force Awakens! Disney's Biggest Star Wars Series Confirms Epic 2027 Return!

The year 2026 has brought exciting developments and updates for Star Wars fans, with major Disney+ series and a highly anticipated theatrical return highlighting the expanding universe. From acclaimed new shows to feature films and even interactive fan experiences, the galaxy far, far away continues to captivate audiences.
A standout success of 2026 has been the emergence of Darth Maul in a new Disney+ series. This project has not only achieved the distinction of becoming the highest-rated in Star Wars history but has also already secured a pickup for a second season. Sam Witwer, the voice actor for Darth Maul in the series, has confirmed that fans won't have a long wait for the continuation of the story.
Star Wars is also set to make its long-awaited return to the big screen in 2026 for the first time since 2019, with the release of "The Mandalorian and Grogu." This live-action feature film is designed as a direct continuation of the immensely popular Star Wars Disney+ series that originally launched alongside the Disney+ platform in 2019. While the future beyond "The Mandalorian and Grogu" for the remainder of 2026 remains somewhat unclear, it signifies a major milestone for the franchise's cinematic presence.
Amidst these exciting announcements, there was also news regarding a delay for "Ahsoka" Season 2. Originally, it was thought that the second season of the series would premiere on Disney+ before the end of 2026. However, during a recent Disney upfront presentation, it was revealed that "Ahsoka" Season 2 has been delayed and is now slated for release on Disney+ in early 2027. Despite wrapping filming last year, the postponement is attributed to the need for a full year of post-production to ensure the visual effects meet the high standards fans expect from Star Wars shows. While plot details are being kept under wraps, stars such as Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka), Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), and Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger) are confirmed to return.
Looking back at Ahsoka Tano's journey, her live-action debut occurred in 2020 during the second season of "The Mandalorian," specifically in the episode titled "The Jedi." She later appeared in the first and only season of "The Book of Boba Fett," playing a role in bridging the narratives of Din Djarin and Boba Fett. Her own highly anticipated live-action series, "Ahsoka," premiered in 2023, largely serving as a sequel to the animated series "Rebels" rather than solely focusing on connections within the broader FiloniVerse. The creative direction for Season 2 remains unspecified, but it is expected to deliver another epic, intergalactic adventure.
Beyond the shows and films, the Star Wars universe continues to engage fans with interactive experiences, such as the "Which Force User Are You?" quiz, designed to determine an individual's alignment within the Force. This quiz posits that the Force is not merely a binary of light or dark but a broad spectrum, ranging from the serene Jedi Temple to the shadowed Sith space. Through ten questions, it aims to reveal where participants truly fall, categorizing them as a Jedi Master, Padawan, Sith Lord, Inquisitor, or Grey Jedi.
The quiz delves into various aspects of a Force user's philosophy and actions, including their understanding of the Force as a living energy or a source of power, their approach to strong emotions (whether to acknowledge, suppress, or utilize them), and their response to authority and temptation. It also explores training methods, combat styles (defensive, instinctive, unpredictable, or aggressive), the choice of compassion or ruthlessness towards defeated enemies, views on attachment versus the Jedi Code, and the ultimate purpose behind wielding the Force (e.g., to learn, protect, survive, or dominate). Each answer contributes to revealing a user's place in the Force.
Based on the quiz results, participants are aligned with one of five distinct paths. A Jedi Master is described as disciplined, compassionate, deeply attuned to the living Force, leading by example, and consistently choosing the light side. A Padawan is earnest and powerful, brimming with potential, often acting instinctively and sometimes confusing impatience for bravery, recognized by Masters for their raw talent. A Sith Lord is dangerous and certain, believing their cause is righteous, wielding formidable power earned through sacrifice, though warned about the dark side's deceptive agreement with their convictions. An Inquisitor, forged in fire, serves to find structure and purpose after being reshaped, their allegiance being to survival and their master, hinting at a forgotten past before their choice was taken. Finally, a Grey Jedi finds both the Jedi Code and Sith Code incomplete, walking a middle path out of conviction rather than indecision, believing both extremes miss essential truths, and thus not fully trusted by either side.
