Published 2 weeks ago2 minute read

CARL Tamayo once again got the better of SJ Belangel after Changwon LG Sakers’ 79-72 escape from Daegu KOGAS Pegasus on Friday at Daegu Gymnasium.

The Gilas Pilipinas stud shot 7-of-12 from the field for his 16 points, to go with five rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

This was Changwon’s fourth win in five Korean Basketball League meetings against Daegu, but more importantly, allowed it to bounce back after a 67-63 heartbreaker to Wonju DB Promy last Monday.

The Sakers also moved up to second place in the standings at 26-16, while condemning the Pegasus to back-to-back losses to fall to 22-20.

Belangel, for his part, nabbed 18 points on 3-of-8 shooting from distance, on top of seven assists and two boards in the losing cause.

Meanwhile, Kevin Quiambao was limited to just seven points in Goyang Sono Skygunners’ 71-56 defeat to Seoul SK Knights at Goyang Sono Arena.
