Shein Opens First Alberta Pop-Up Store at CrossIron Mill

Global fashion retailer Shein is set to make its highly anticipated debut in Alberta with an exclusive 12-day pop-up event at CrossIron Mills. Running from July 2 to July 13, this marks Shein's first physical presence in the province and is strategically timed to coincide with the iconic Calgary Stampede, aiming to seamlessly blend contemporary summer fashion with traditional western flair.
The event will feature two distinct and immersive pop-up installations designed to offer a comprehensive shopping and interactive experience. The primary flagship pop-up, conveniently located near Entrance 6 of CrossIron Mills, will showcase a meticulously curated selection of Shein’s most popular collections. A significant focus will be placed on "Stampede staples," providing attendees with ideal attire for the renowned Calgary event. Beyond western-inspired fashion, the space will also highlight seasonal collections spanning a wide range of categories, including swimwear, home goods, menswear, accessories, and beauty products, ensuring a diverse offering for all shoppers.
Visitors to the flagship location can take advantage of exclusive in-store-only promotions, such as discounts of up to 30 percent off their purchases and complimentary gifts with purchase, available while supplies last. Adding a unique local touch, a limited-edition Calgary tote bag, specially designed by talented local artist Irene Neyman, will also be available for purchase, serving as a tangible memento of the event.
Complementing the main pop-up, a second installation near Entrance 2 will host SheGlam, Shein’s rapidly expanding beauty line. This dedicated beauty space will feature a Stampede-inspired activation, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the brand's bold aesthetic through interactive beauty moments. The pop-up operations will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., accommodating various shopping schedules.
This Alberta launch is part of Shein's ongoing strategic expansion into the Canadian market, a concerted effort that began last year. The fashion giant has been actively targeting Canadian consumers through a series of exclusive pop-up locations and marketing campaigns across the country. Notable previous pop-ups include a successful event in Toronto at the Distillery District’s Winter Village last winter, as well as similar engaging experiences hosted in Montreal, Vancouver, and Ottawa throughout 2024, solidifying Shein's growing retail footprint in Canada.
