At 40 years old, Dr. Olanrewaju-Smart's intellectual journey extends beyond these degrees. He was also a LEAPS Fellow at the renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), indicating his engagement with cutting-edge thought and innovation. His professional development includes a diploma in Public Relations from the London School of Public Relations, showcasing a diverse skill set. Additionally, he served as a Policy Fellow at Quantum Alliance AI, USA, where his work specifically focused on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Civic Technology, underscoring his forward-thinking approach to public service.

His career in the National Assembly is extensive and deeply rooted. He began as a Research and Media Assistant to the Minority/Majority Leader of the House of Representatives during the 7th and 8th Assemblies. His ascent continued through various pivotal roles, including Special Adviser, Deputy Chief of Staff, and ultimately, Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives during the 9th and 10th Assemblies. This progression highlights his deep understanding of legislative processes and inter-governmental relations.

Prior to this new appointment, Dr. Olanrewaju-Smart joined the Presidency in October 2023, serving as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Intergovernmental Affairs. His public policy research portfolio is equally impressive, encompassing significant contributions to the development of several landmark legislations, notably including the Interest-Free Student Loan Act. This background positions him as a key figure in legislative strategy and implementation.
