Political Firestorm: UPND Accused and Responds to Solwezi Cadre Attack on Musicians
NRPUP Presidential Candidate Brian Mundubile has accused UPND cadres of brutally attacking four musicians in Solwezi, North Western Province. Mundubile named the musicians, claimed to have proof of the incident, and called for immediate arrests by law enforcement and intervention from the international community.
Brian Mundubile, the Presidential Candidate for the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP), has levied serious accusations against cadres affiliated with the United Party for National Development (UPND). Mundubile alleges that four musicians were brutally attacked in Solwezi District, North Western Province, on Thursday by individuals suspected to be UPND cadres.
In a statement issued from Solwezi on Thursday, Mundubile specifically named the musicians involved in the alleged assault as Rich Bizzy, Shenky, Chester, and Kadafi. He further claimed that the identities of the alleged attackers are known and that compelling footage of the incident exists, providing clear proof of their involvement in the violence.
The NRPUP leader has made an urgent appeal to law enforcement authorities, demanding immediate action against those implicated in the attack. He challenged them directly, stating, "I challenge you now to instruct the police to arrest these cadres immediately."
Additionally, Mundubile extended his appeal to external observers and the international community, urging them to take serious note of the escalating situation ahead of upcoming polls. He specifically called on the international community "to address this violence and call for peace before, during and after the 13th August general elections." Mundubile characterized the alleged attack as part of a larger, worrying pattern of political intimidation, which he stressed must be unequivocally rejected by voters across the nation.
