Pete Davidson's Paternity Joy: Expecting First Child With Elsie Hewitt, Reveals Long-Held Dream

Comedian Pete Davidson, 31, and model Elsie Hewitt, 29, are enthusiastically embarking on a new chapter as they prepare to welcome their first child together. The joyful news was initially shared by Hewitt on Wednesday, July 16, via an Instagram post that included several intimate photos of the couple, alongside ultrasound videos, playfully captioned, “Welp now everyone knows we had sex.” Davidson, known for his time on Saturday Night Live, later confirmed his excitement about impending fatherhood in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 22, stating, “I honestly couldn’t be more excited. It’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid. The baby’s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever. She’s going to be a great mom and I’m just stoked. I hope to be the dad I hoped that I would have.”

The couple’s relationship timeline has largely remained private, a notable contrast to Davidson’s past highly publicized romances. According to the Associated Press, Davidson and Hewitt were first publicly linked in March, following a sighting in Palm Springs. Shortly after, Hewitt made their relationship Instagram official, and they have since made occasional red carpet appearances while mostly keeping their time together out of the public eye, with Hewitt sometimes sharing snippets on social media.

Becoming a father has long been a profound dream for Pete Davidson. He openly shared this aspiration in a 2022 conversation with fellow comedian Kevin Hart, remarking, “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. It’s like my dream.” He added, “It would be so fun to dress up a little dude. I’m so excited for, like, that chapter. So that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now. I’m trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens, it’s just easier.” Reflecting on this new phase during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Davidson emphasized how his perspective has shifted, noting, “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice.”

The news has been met with an outpouring of congratulations from friends and family. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), a close friend of Davidson, enthusiastically commented on Hewitt’s post, writing, “These playdates bout to hittttt,” drawing a connection to his own recent experience of welcoming a daughter earlier this year. Hewitt’s best friend, model Meredith Mickelson, also expressed her joy, stating, “My bestie is having my mini bestie which means my life is complete.” A source for E! News confirmed that Davidson’s mother, Amy Waters, is “thrilled” about the pregnancy, eagerly anticipating becoming a grandma. Davidson’s own father, a New York City firefighter, tragically died during the September 11, 2001, attacks when Pete was just seven years old, a loss he has frequently discussed.

Elsie Hewitt has also been candid about her personal health journey, having undergone surgery for endometriosis in November. In December, she shared on TikTok her struggles with the condition's symptoms and pain, explaining the significant impact it had on her career and daily life, noting, “The amount of opportunities I’ve lost out on because I can’t work when I’m feeling this way, or it’s like a liability to be on set, if I might have to go to the emergency room, or if I can’t work because money is at stake.” Despite these challenges, both Davidson and Hewitt appear overjoyed and ready to embrace parenthood, a long-awaited dream for the comedian.
