Pete Davidson's Paternal Dream Comes True: Expecting First Child with Elsie Hewitt

Comedian Pete Davidson, 31, and model Elsie Hewitt, 29, are excitedly preparing for their biggest role yet: parenthood. Hewitt took to Instagram on Wednesday, July 16, to announce that she and Davidson are expecting their first child together. Her post included several intimate photos of the couple, alongside videos from an ultrasound, signaling the joyous news to their followers. “Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” Elsie cheekily captioned the post, an announcement that was both on-brand and a reflection of their relatively private relationship.

While Davidson does not use social media, he confirmed the news and openly shared his excitement about impending fatherhood in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 22. “I honestly couldn’t be more excited,” Pete shared, elaborating that becoming a father has been his dream since he was a little kid. He praised Hewitt, calling her “one of my favorite people to ever exist ever” and expressing confidence that “She’s going to be a great mom.” Later that evening, during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Davidson reflected on his emotional journey, noting how his perspective has shifted, stating, “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice.”

Davidson has long expressed his desire to have children. In a 2022 conversation with fellow comedian Kevin Hart, he stated, “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. It’s like my dream.” He added, “It would be so fun to dress up a little dude. I’m so excited for, like, that chapter. So that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now. I’m trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens, it’s just easier.” This aspiration is deeply personal, especially given that Pete’s father, a New York City firefighter, tragically died during the September 11, 2001, attacks when Pete was just seven years old. He expressed a desire to “be the dad I hoped that I would have.”

The couple's relationship has largely been kept out of the public eye, a notable contrast to Davidson's previous high-profile romances with celebrities like Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, and Madelyn Cline. According to the Associated Press, Davidson and Hewitt were first publicly linked in March after being spotted together in Palm Springs. Days later, Hewitt made their relationship Instagram official with a candid photo of Davidson, though they have since only occasionally shared images, videos, and made red carpet appearances together.

The pregnancy announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulations from friends and fans alike. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, a close friend of Davidson’s, commented on Hewitt’s post, “These playdates bout to hittttt,” referencing his own recent experience of welcoming a daughter with ex-girlfriend Megan Fox earlier this year. MGK has previously spoken about his long-standing friendship with Davidson, even revealing in a 2022 chat with Howard Stern that Davidson would be a groomsman in his wedding. Hewitt’s best friend, model Meredith Mickelson, also shared her joy, writing, “My bestie is having my mini bestie which means my life is complete,” later adding, “HEHEHEHEHEHE. I’M SO HAPPY. BEST MOMMY EVERRRRR.” A source for E! News also revealed that Davidson’s mother, Amy Waters, is “thrilled” at the news and “can’t wait to become a grandma.”

Beyond the celebratory news, Elsie Hewitt has openly shared her personal health struggles. The model underwent surgery for endometriosis in November and subsequently took to TikTok in December to discuss the symptoms and pain she has experienced. She highlighted the significant impact of the condition on her life, noting, “The amount of opportunities I’ve lost out on because I can’t work when I’m feeling this way, or it’s like a liability to be on set, if I might have to go to the emergency room, or if I can’t work because money is at stake,” and mentioned that her symptoms have progressively worsened over the years. This new chapter of parenthood marks a significant and joyful milestone for both Davidson and Hewitt.
