Olivia Rodrigo Dominates Streams: New Track Shatters Records!
Olivia Rodrigo's new album, "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love," is already breaking streaming records on Spotify and Amazon Music. This follows her successful Billions Club Live performance and reinforces her standing as a major force in the music industry, with previous albums like "Sour" also achieving significant streaming milestones.
Olivia Rodrigo's latest studio album, "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love," released on Friday, June 12, through Geffen Records, has immediately commenced a record-breaking journey in the streaming world. The 23-year-old pop sensation's third full-length project is rapidly shattering streaming milestones across prominent platforms.
On the day of its release, Spotify announced on X that the 13-track album achieved the distinction of becoming the most-streamed album in a single day in 2026 by a female artist, a significant accomplishment early in the year. Concurrently, Amazon Music revealed via its Instagram Stories that the album also set a major global milestone for the platform, securing the biggest first 24-hour streaming debut of any album on Amazon Music in 2026.
This new album marks Olivia Rodrigo's return three years after her previous full-length release, "Guts," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2023. Prior to the album's launch, Rodrigo captivated fans with her Billions Club Live performance in Barcelona in May. This exclusive one-night-only event gathered 1,500 of her most devoted Spanish fans at the historic outdoor venue Teatre Grec, where she performed eight of her nine Spotify Billions Club tracks, alongside popular songs from her first two albums and her recent single "Drop Dead." A concert film of this memorable show was subsequently released by Spotify on May 27.
Rodrigo's influence on streaming platforms extends beyond her recent releases. In late April, Spotify unveiled a comprehensive list of the most-streamed artists, songs, albums, podcasts, and audiobooks in the platform's history. Her 2021 debut album, "Sour," notably ranked as the No. 4 most-streamed album of all time on the streaming giant. Furthermore, Olivia Rodrigo stands out as one of the youngest artists with multiple songs featured in Spotify’s prestigious Billions Club. "Sour" also holds the impressive second position among albums with the highest number of tracks surpassing 1 billion streams on the platform, with a total of seven songs reaching this monumental milestone, surpassed only by Bad Bunny’s "Un Verano Sin Ti," which boasts eight Billions Club entries.
