Noah Kahan Conquers Charts! Scores Historic First No. 1 with 'The Great Divide'

Noah Kahan has achieved a significant milestone, securing the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart for the first time with his latest single, “The Great Divide.” The track debuted atop the Feb. 14-dated survey, marking a new career high for the artist.

Following its release on January 30, “The Great Divide” garnered an impressive 19.3 million official U.S. streams, 3.3 million radio audience impressions, and sold 5,000 units in the week ending February 5, according to Luminate data. Kahan had previously reached the No. 2 position on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart twice: first as a featured artist on Zach Bryan’s “Sarah’s Place” in 2023, and then with his own hit “Stick Season” in 2024.

In addition to its primary achievement, “The Great Divide” concurrently debuted at No. 1 on both the Hot Rock Songs and Hot Alternative Songs charts. This marks Kahan’s first leader on the former chart and his third on the latter, following his successes with “Dial Drunk” in 2023 and “Stick Season” in 2024. The new single also made a strong entrance on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, landing at No. 6.

The song is also making significant waves across various rock radio formats. It debuted at No. 14 on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart with 2.5 million impressions. Furthermore, it opened at No. 15 on Adult Alternative Airplay, No. 21 on Alternative Airplay, and No. 38 on Adult Pop Airplay, indicating broad appeal.

“The Great Divide” serves as the lead single from Noah Kahan’s forthcoming fourth studio album of the same name, which is slated for release on April 24 under Mercury/Republic. His preceding album,
