K-Pop Sensation: 'KPop Demon Hunters' 'Golden' Hits Staggering 1 Billion YouTube Views

The standout hit “Golden,” from the soundtrack of the KPop Demon Hunters’ film, has achieved remarkable success, surpassing one billion views on YouTube in less than seven months. This milestone is particularly noteworthy as many songs typically take years or even over a decade to reach such a figure. Performed by vocalists EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI, who lend their voices to the fictional girl group HUNTR/X, “Golden” is the first track from the Netflix movie's soundtrack to accomplish this feat since its premiere in June.
Beyond its YouTube success, “Golden” has also garnered critical acclaim. The song, which dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks at No. 1 and topped Billboard staff’s year-end best songs list for 2025, was honored with the Best Original Song award at the Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday, January 11. During her emotional acceptance speech, EJAE, who contributed to both writing and recording the song for the Netflix film, expressed profound gratitude.
EJAE highlighted the song's impactful message, stating, “It’s a dream come true to be part of a song that’s helping other girls, other boys and everyone of all ages to get through their hardships and accept themselves.”
She dedicated the award to those who have faced rejection, powerfully declaring, “I can confidently say rejection is redirection. It’s never too late to shine like you were born to be.”
Meanwhile, other tracks from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, including “Soda Pop,”“Your Idol,” “How It’s Done,”“TAKEDOWN,”“What It Sounds Like,” and “Free,” are also reportedly climbing both U.S. and global YouTube charts, indicating a broad success for the film's musical offerings.
