Nigeria's AI Education Revolution: Google Report Declares Global Leadership

Nigeria has emerged as the global leader in AI adoption for learning and entrepreneurship, according to the Our Life with AI 2025 report. The study, a collaboration between Google and Ipsos for the third consecutive year, surveyed 21,000 respondents across 21 countries to understand public attitudes and usage of artificial intelligence.

Globally, the main drivers for AI use include learning new information or understanding complex topics (74%), assisting with work tasks (70%), and entertainment or exploration (66%). Within this context, Nigeria stands out, with 88% of adults actively using AI chatbots—an 18% increase from the previous year—for education, business, and entrepreneurial activities.

Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, Google’s Communications & Public Affairs Manager for West Africa, emphasized that this trend reflects Nigerians’ innovative use of AI to drive personal growth, economic empowerment, and national progress. He noted that the report goes beyond numbers, highlighting how AI is shaping a nation’s future.
