Morgan Wallen's Heartfelt Tribute to Charlie Kirk's Widow Erika at Canadian Show

Country music superstar Morgan Wallen recently took a poignant moment during his concert in Edmonton, Canada, to offer a heartfelt tribute to Erika Kirk, the grieving widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Performing at Commonwealth Stadium on Friday, September 12, the 32-year-old artist paused his show to deliver an emotional message, just days after Erika's husband was tragically assassinated.

Wallen addressed the audience, stating, “I’m not gonna say a whole bunch on this, but this song right here has been hitting me harder in the last couple days. I just wanted to let Erika Kirk know that me and my family are sending prayers her way.” He then dedicated his song “I’m a Little Crazy” – which reached No. 17 on the Billboard Hot chart in April 2025 – to the Kirk family, encouraging the crowd to sing along in a gesture of solidarity.

Charlie Kirk, 31, was a prominent conservative activist and the co-founder of Turning Point USA. He was fatally shot on September 10 during a Q&A session at “The American Comeback Tour” event, organized by his group at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Kirk was later pronounced dead and is survived by his wife, Erika, and their two young children. The suspected gunman, Tyler Robinson, was taken into custody the day following the incident.

Morgan Wallen was not the only artist to honor Kirk over the weekend. On the same evening, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin acknowledged the tragic event at his band's Wembley Stadium show in London. Martin asked the audience to “send love anywhere you want to send it in the world,” specifically mentioning “Charlie Kirk’s family.” Numerous other music artists, including Sheryl Crow, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Breland, Lauren Alaina, Gavin Adcock, Parker McCollum, CeCe Winans, and Michael W. Smith, also shared their condolences and tributes on social media. A public memorial service for Charlie Kirk is scheduled for September 21 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
