Tensions Erupt: Zach Bryan & Gavin Adcock's Near-Fight at Country Fest!

Country music artists Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock were involved in a heated confrontation that nearly escalated into a physical fight at the Born & Raised Festival in Pryor, Oklahoma, on Saturday, September 13. The incident unfolded moments before Adcock, 26, was slated to perform at the event, capturing attention as video clips of the altercation surfaced online.

One video, shared by Adcock on Instagram, depicted Bryan, 29, arguing intensely from the opposite side of a chain-link fence. Bryan was heard challenging Adcock, stating, “Hey, do you want to fight like a man? Come open the gate,” before angrily shoving the fence. Adcock overlaid the clip with text reading, “When you get death threats from Sack Cryin before you headline in his hometown,” mocking Bryan with a derogatory nickname, and captioned the post with “Eat a snickers bro.”

Further footage, posted to Facebook, showed Bryan taking more extreme measures, climbing over the barbed-wire-topped fence and lunging toward Adcock before security personnel intervened and restrained him. Adcock, meanwhile, was seen walking away, escorted by a guard. The incident drew criticism towards Adcock in the comments, with one user noting Bryan’s daring actions and questioning Adcock’s apparent inaction. Adcock defended himself, explaining that he “Had a show to play for Oklahoma. Wasn’t going to jail over that Psycho.” Representatives for both artists have been contacted for comment.

This confrontation marks the latest development in an ongoing public feud between the two singers, which began earlier in the summer. The animosity reportedly started in mid-July when Adcock appeared to criticize Bryan over an interaction involving a 14-year-old fan. The fan was left disappointed after failing to secure an autograph from Bryan following his performance.

Following the second night of Bryan’s three-show run at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Bryan had posted a since-deleted TikTok comment. In it, he stated, “You’re not entitled after someone plays two and a half hours to a picture or a hello,” concluding with the NSFW acronym “GOMD.” This dismissive remark sparked the initial public disagreement.

Adcock swiftly responded on X, publicly criticizing Bryan’s handling of the fan situation. He questioned Bryan’s ability to handle criticism, writing, “If you can’t handle the criticism of a 14 year old why do people idolize you? That kid was head over heels to meet you and spent/ parents spent a ton of money to see you. He’s got feeling too and a you’re a ‘grown man’ nearly 30. They’re the only reason you are around.”

Adcock further elaborated on his views during an appearance on Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast. He clarified that his criticism wasn't about autograph refusal itself, but Bryan's harsh response to a young fan. “It wasn’t about not wanting to sign autographs after a show, it’s like letting a 14-year-old kid rant, without saying, ‘get off my d—k.’ You’re bigger than that,” Adcock stated. He also suggested, “I think Zach Bryan puts on a big mask in his day-to-day life and sometimes he can’t help but rip it off and show his true colors,” though he did not specify what those “true colors” entailed.

Despite the highly public nature of their feud, Adcock confirmed during the podcast that he has never personally met Zach Bryan. He concluded his thoughts on the matter by asserting his independence, stating, “I wouldn’t say Zach Bryan is my buddy. I ain’t his buddy, he ain’t my buddy. I ain’t met the guy. I don’t need him.”
