The upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will depict a Spider-Man who is solitary, anonymous, and striving to reconstruct his life amidst a universe undergoing profound changes and heading towards impending doom.
Regarding the timeline within the Marvel Studios' grand narrative, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, alongside producer Amy Pascal, confirmed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set before Avengers: Doomsday. While Feige remained discreet about the exact duration preceding Doomsday, Pascal offered a more precise timeline for Peter Parker, stating the film takes place four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
This four-year jump signifies that audiences will rejoin Peter Parker after he has already endured a considerable period living with the repercussions of Doctor Strange’s spell. His loved ones no longer remember him, Aunt May has passed away, and he has reverted to a more fundamental existence, utilizing a homemade suit and having abandoned the advanced technology bestowed upon him by Tony Stark. This setup allows Peter to embrace a more street-level version of Spider-Man, a direction many fans have desired, rather than picking up just days after the previous installment. He has spent years working independently, forging a new identity, and adapting to a life he never chose. The confirmation that the movie predates Avengers: Doomsday also implies that Peter’s forthcoming solo adventure could directly influence his role and standing leading into Avengers: Secret Wars. This also definitively rules out the possibility of Brand New Day occurring in the aftermath of Doctor Doom’s arrival.
