HBO has revealed new cast members for Season 2 of its "Harry Potter" series, including Lenny Rush as Dobby and Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley. The first season premieres December 25, while the second season, based on J.K. Rowling's second book, is in pre-production, featuring an extensive cast and creative team dedicated to bringing the wizarding world to life.
The highly anticipated HBO “Harry Potter” series is expanding its magical world with several new cast members announced for its second season. Lenny Rush is set to play the beloved house-elf Dobby, while Bonnie Hill will take on the role of Ginny Weasley, replacing Gracie Cochrane who departed due to unforeseen circumstances. Additionally, Billy Barratt will portray Tom Riddle, a pivotal character in the saga. These new additions come as the first season of the show has officially wrapped production and is scheduled to premiere on HBO on December 25.
Season 2, which will delve into the narrative of the second book in J.K. Rowling’s iconic fantasy series, is currently in its pre-production phase at Leavesden Studios, located just outside London. The series aims to bring the beloved story to a new generation and existing fans, with its logline describing Harry Potter's journey from an ordinary life to a hidden world of magic, friendship, and adventure within Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he must confront dark secrets and the darkest wizard of all.
The main cast for the small screen adaptation features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, forming the iconic trio. The ensemble cast also includes notable actors such as John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. Supporting roles are filled by Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, among many other familiar characters from the wizarding world.
The “Harry Potter” series is based on Rowling's books and is being penned and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod serves as an executive producer and will direct multiple episodes. The series is a collaborative effort, with executive producers including J.K.
