Kenya Power Announces Areas in 9 Counties to Experience Electricity Interruptions on Wednesday 26

—Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, February 26.

In a statement, the utility firm said several areas in nine counties will experience power interruptions starting 8.30am.

"The following areas will be on a planned power maintenance tomorrow (26.02.2025)," KPLC said.

Kenya Power indicated that the scheduled maintenance is meant to improve service delivery to its customers across the country.

Muratha Rod, Hinga Rd, Gichagi Rd, Kangemi Pri, Kangemi High, Kangemi Bottom Line, Kangemi Shangilia, Ananda Marga Academy, Kangemi Dallas, Kihumbuini Primary, Kangemi Co-op Bank and adjacent customers.

Umoja 2 Estate, St. Veronicah Catholic Church, Busara Primary, Peter Kibukosya Primary and Secondary School, Kifaru, Tumaini Primary, and adjacent customers.

Lukume Mkt, Bukhakunga, Imbiakalo, Sawasawa, Burundu, Shihome, Power Spot Residence and adjacent customers.

Nyamagesa, Rianyoka, Nyamasibi, Bonyakoni Secondary, Keroka Hill Top Hotel, Ichuni Girls, Nyaturago Secondary, Hema Chitago Secondary, and adjacent customers.

8. Kilifi county

9. Parts of Kwale county

Area: Msambweni Hospital (9am-3pm)

Meanwhile, the differences between Kenya Power and the Nairobi county government entered the second day.

On Tuesday, February 25, KPLC employees were forced to work from home because of the garbage dumped outside their offices by the county government.

Kileleshwa MCA is among leaders who condemned the drastic action taken by Governor Johnson Sakaja's administration.

According to Alai, the steps taken by the county are illegal and unprofessional.

Sakaja's administration has sharply differed with Kenya Power regarding a bill of KSh 4.8 billion.
