Chad Goalkeeper Hilariously 'Cries Out' in Twi After Defeat Against Ghana

Chad's goalkeeper, Mbaynaissem Jourdain, provided a lighthearted moment despite his team's heavy 5-0 defeat to Ghana in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The match, which saw Les Sao suffer their worst loss in a competitive fixture since 2015, and conversely, Ghana secure their biggest win since 2020 (a 5-1 victory over Qatar), was a challenging one for the Chadian side.
Despite conceding five goals, Mbaynaissem Jourdain was arguably Chad's best performer, making numerous saves that prevented an even greater scoreline. Speaking to a journalist after the game, Mbaynaissem comically lamented the match's difficulty, expressing his exhaustion in Twi, saying, "The game was tough; I am tired."
Mbaynaissem was one of only two foreign-based players called up by coach Gardia Tahir Zakaria, who largely selected locally based players for the match. Chad's next challenge is against Comoros, where they will be aiming to secure their first point in the qualifiers.
For Ghana's Black Stars, this victory propelled them to the top of their group with 12 points, placing them two points ahead of Madagascar, their next opponent on Monday, March 24, 2025.
