Keanu Reeves Unveils Mind-Bending Sci-Fi Action Film: 'Groundhog Day' Meets 'Jaws'!
Keanu Reeves and Gard Hollinger's ARCH Motorcycle takes to the track in the new docuseries "Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project," premiering July 12 on Samsung TV Plus. The series captures their unique approach to motorcycle design and racing, while Reeves also teases an upcoming sci-fi film featuring sharks, time travel, and a 'Groundhog Day' premise.
"Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project," a new six-part docuseries, is set to premiere on Samsung TV Plus (STN) on Sunday, July 12, with new episodes airing weekly through August 16. The series chronicles the journey of ARCH Motorcycle, co-founded by Keanu Reeves and Gard Hollinger, as they transition their bespoke, built-to-order street bikes into professional racing machines, making their debut in MotoAmerica's premier motorcycle road racing series.
ARCH Motorcycle, launched in 2011, has garnered a reputation for crafting high-performance bikes that are not only optimized for spectacular and reliable riding but are also meticulously tailored to their riders. Collider’s Steven Weintraub interviewed Reeves and Hollinger, who expressed immense excitement about showcasing their bikes' capabilities in a competitive environment. Reeves notably appeared more energized and happy during the filming of the docuseries, attributing it to the positive momentum and opportunities at ARCH.
Hollinger reflected on the genesis of ARCH Motorcycle, humorously noting that Keanu's "craziest" request wasn't to race a prototype, but to start a motorcycle company in the first place. The duo discussed their unique philosophy, emphasizing that they are not actively "bucking a trend" but simply "doing what we do." This approach is exemplified by their new 2S-R model, which deviates from contemporary industry standards. While many manufacturers opt for liquid cooling and oversized radiators, the 2S-R features a big air-cooled V-twin engine with traditional cooling fins and a dedicated oil cooler to manage engine temperature.
The 2S-R began as a test motorcycle during the development of ARCH’s next generation of bikes before being transformed into a race-ready machine. The experience gained from racing, including making the bike lighter and faster through the season, is actively fed back into the design and refinement of their production motorcycles. The unexpected warmth and support from the racing community and fans, especially for a new American team, proved deeply heartwarming for Reeves and Hollinger, who also acknowledge that placing in the Top 10 at Daytona significantly bolstered their ability to secure new and returning sponsors.
Beyond the world of motorcycling, Keanu Reeves also offered an intriguing tease for his upcoming sci-fi adventure film with "Deadpool" director Tim Miller. The project, set to film in the Dominican Republic, involves a unique combination of "Sharks. Time machine. Groundhog Day." Reeves expressed his anticipation for spending considerable time in the water, even jokingly mentioning "getting eaten by sharks." This film marks his first original action movie since "John Wick" and promises to be a thrilling entry in his diverse career.
